ABSTRACT

Managing clinical education placements in physical therapy and physical therapy assistant programs continue to evolve to meet the needs of accredited programs (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education [CAPTE], 2021b). The onset of COVID-19, the increased market demand, and the rise of more universities' program growth in physical therapy created a need for increased clinical placements. The 2:1 model has the potential to increase available placements. However, the implementation is slow due to resistance and obstacles. The 2:1 clinical model differs from the 1:1 model because it adds another student in the clinical experience for the clinical instructor;therefore, one clinical instructor mentors two students simultaneously. Research on the 2:1 model explored the viewpoints of clinical instructors, students, academia, and clinical site coordinators and lacked patient perspectives. This qualitative multiplecase study included an exploration of the patient's perspective of treatment satisfaction and efficiency of the 2:1 clinical education model. Reflexive thematic analysis, RA, was the method applied to the data obtained through semi-structured interviews. RA uses an inductive approach in qualitative studies for healthcare research without a predetermined set of codes or a codebook(Braun et al., 2021, 2014). Kotter's Change Management Model, KCMM, was the theoretical framework for this study. The first step is to create a sense of urgency, accomplished by the COVID-19 pandemic, market demand, and an increase in physical therapy and physical therapist university programs. This study focused on the second step, which is to create a guiding coalition of all the stakeholders. Obtaining patient perspectives was essential, as it was missing from previous research. Patients are the stakeholders who are usually the primary stakeholder for quality control in healthcare. The positive results of this study about satisfaction and effectiveness of the 2:1 model were from seven participants of diverse ages, locations, treatment settings, and diagnoses and supported 2:1 model in physical therapy and physical therapist assistant clinical education. By gaining insight from a primary stakeholder contributed to the gap in the literature and supported implementing a change initiative for the 2:1 model. A significant model was found that predicted a collective effect tor satisfaction with telethempy Coullseling. Reported increases in symptomology additionally indicated a greater need for accessible care during the pandemic. ABSTRACT

This paper investigates the effect of parents' coproduction in online schooling on satisfaction with educational services during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using European cross country microdata from the 2020 Eurofound survey, we reveal that parents' involvement in home schooling is strongly correlated with their satisfaction with educational services. Our results contribute to the on-going debate regarding the importance of citizens' involvement in service delivery during the pandemic, and, in particular, on the related effects in terms of subjective satisfaction.

ABSTRACT

The aim of the Wellbeing and Emotional Activities (WEA) project was to sustain families, to reduce the impact of COVID-19 and to create web meetings using Microsoft Teams during which children with muscular dystrophies could interact, have fun and learn. The goals of this study were to compare the perception of service users, both from the point of view of parents and children, measured with a users' satisfaction questionnaire, and to correlate if the level of satisfaction of the children could be correlated to trait self-concepts of the Piers-Harris Children's Self-Concept Scale. Eleven children with neuromuscular disorders participated in the project. The WEA program included 12 web meetings, consisting of 1 hour, 3 times a week over a 1-month period. It included game activities aimed at enhancing cognitive functions, promoting critical thinking and managing emotions. Results indicated that both children and parents perceived the same level of satisfaction. Correlations between children's satisfaction in life and the self-concept scale were found. This study highlights the benefits and disadvantages of the use of a WEA web-based program from the service users' perspective. (PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)

ABSTRACT

PurposeThe National Association of Social Workers encourages self-care among practitioners. Self-care may prevent secondary traumatic stress, however, research examining self-care and other employee-related outcomes is dearth. Job satisfaction and organizational commitment are important for client, employee, and agency outcomes, but self-care's role is unclear.MethodsThe relationship between employee self-care practices, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment was considered among 137 practitioners from a single US state during the Covid-19 pandemic.ResultsJob satisfaction was positively correlated with tenure, caring workplaces, and professional self-care. Organizational commitment was positively associated with hours worked, caring work environments, and professional self-care.DiscussionProfessional self-care was the most important self-care domain for job satisfaction and organizational commitment, but the least utilized form of self-care. Findings suggest the need to nurture organizational cultures emphasizing the importance of professional self-care and climates emphasizing employee safety during pandemics.ConclusionReplication among larger samples with representation from gender diverse and BIPOC practitioners is recommended.

ABSTRACT

With the spread of COVID-19, the development and distribution of mobile apps is a significant issue for sustainable growth in service industries. This study identified the relationship between customer loyalty to mobile apps and brand loyalty, and investigated the role of perceived benefits provided by mobile apps in enhancing brand loyalty. We integrated a set of perceived benefits into the expectation-confirmation model and collected data through a survey of 365 consumers in South Korea who used mobile apps of coffee chains. Results reveal that brand loyalty was affected by consumer satisfaction with and loyalty to mobile apps. Entertainment and recognition both played a significant role in increasing loyalty to mobile apps, but the effects of monetary saving and exploration were nonsignificant. The study findings confirm the positive impact of social benefits on consumer satisfaction with and loyalty to mobile apps.

ABSTRACT

Consumer satisfaction is dependent not solely on the end result but also on the supplementary management processes involved. This study applies social listening techniques to extract and analyse consumer grievances regarding the COVID-19 vaccination drive in India. The objective is to provide actionable insights to service providers based on consumer data. The study present s a network analysis based on the keywords present in the posts. The network analysis provides an indicative clustering of the keywords based on their co-appearance. The study also presents a content based thematic analysis and extends the application of organizational justice theory to analyse the interactions between the consumers and the service providers. The study identifies the main themes as complaints related to three aspects viz. price, process and interaction.

ABSTRACT

Remote cognitive and behavioral therapy (CBT) via videoconference has been garnering attention as a means of improving access to CBT for depression, in particular during the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. However, there is a lack of evidence supporting its implementation in Japanese clinical settings. This case series aimed to establish preliminary evidence of whether remote CBT can be an effective therapy for major depression in Japanese clinical settings. Five patients who met the diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder were enrolled and underwent remote CBT via videoconference and face-to-face assessment interviews. The results showed that remote CBT via videoconference improved depressive symptoms, enabling a relatively high level of patient satisfaction and working alliance. Moreover, detailed feedback from our patients showed that continuous monitoring was preferable for increasing treatment engagement. Further research is warranted to test the efficacy and acceptability of remote CBT via videoconference for treating major depression.

ABSTRACT

BACKGROUND: The purpose of this project was to determine whether clients were satisfied with their occupational health physical therapy virtual consultations and whether or not they would have preferred a face-to-face consultation instead of a virtual consultation. METHODS: Clients were mailed an adapted 10-item Telehealth Satisfaction Scale (TeSS) and asked to complete and return it in a prepaid envelope. Clients who returned the TeSS were then contacted by telephone and asked whether they would have preferred a face-to-face consultation instead of a virtual consultation. FINDINGS: Overall, clients expressed a high degree of satisfaction with their virtual occupational health physical therapy consultation (96.9%). Most clients (82.1%) stated they would have chosen virtual consultations if given the choice. CONCLUSION/APPLICATION TO PRACTICE: The cumulative feedback from clients suggested that the benefits of virtual consultations can be sustained post COVID-19 pandemic as clients have accepted and adapted to this new approach within the occupational health physical therapy clinic.
